At Web2.0 Expo, AOL announced Open Auth. This is very cool, and the SNS and dev.aol.com teams worked hard to got this launched. Beyond this though, is the amount of people in the Expo looking for free "swag". I stood inline just before 4:30 when the doors opened. I was amused as a couple of people said they just want the free t-shirts.... Then as the doors opened it was like New Years Sale at Harrods - people going nuts to get the shirts and free goodies. The great dev.aol.com booth had lines around the corner as people tried to get those great "Geek" t-shirts. I tried to talk to a company named "dapper.com". Any company name dapper seemed like a good one to chat to about "RSS". It was like being pushed and shoved as people tried to get dapper stickers. All fun, and all good stuff. And all free. Priceless.
